High-Capacity Magazines Bill To Be Introduced By Democrats On First Day Of Congressional Session

House Democrats will introduce legislation to ban the production of high-capacity magazines on the first day of the next congressional session, the office of Rep. Diana DeGette (D-Colo.), Cheap Snapback For Sale one of the lawmakers sponsoring the bill, told The Huffington Post.

The Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device Act will mirror a failed bill introduced during the 112th Congress. Its authors hope that in the wake of the shooting deaths of 20 first grade students in Newtown, Conn., there will be heightened political urgency to act when it is reintroduced on Jan. 3.

Backed by DeGette and Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-N.Y.), the legislation has gained a wave of Democratic co-sponsors since the shooting, which also claimed the lives of 7 adults. But few Republicans have come forward to offer their support. Even more critical to the bill's political prospects, House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) has not indicated whether he will allow it to come to the floor for a vote.

Still, backers are hopeful, noting that a ban on high-capacity magazines --Mitchell & Ness Snapback Hats which have been involved in many of the recent high-profile instances of mass gun violence -- would be a smaller concession for gun-rights advocates than a broader assault weapons ban.

The bill Democrats will introduce would limit magazines, belts, drums, feed strips and "similar device[s]" to 10 rounds of ammunition. It would allow people to hold on to the "large capacity ammunition feeding device[s]" that they currently own, but prohibit them from buying others or transferring the ones they have.

The bill would also exempt retired and current law enforcement officials who use those devices for "purposes of law enforcement (whether on or off duty)" as well as contractors who have been licensed to carry the devices for security purposes required by federal law.

"I'm not so naïve as to think that we can pass someSnapbacks Wholesale law that will stop a deranged person from taking a gun and shooting people," DeGette told The Huffington Post two weeks ago. "What I am interested in is making it as difficult as possible for that deranged person to shoot as many people as possible."

Even with the releases of critically applauded, “Lincoln”, “Argo”, and “Skyfall”, the end of the year was not a letdown for cinema. December saw the releases of the anticipated “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” and the classic story of the downtrodden, “Les Miserables”.

Arguably, the film sparking the most conversation this season is Quentin Tarantino’s “Django Unchained”. The movie is an homage to twentieth century spaghetti westerns, but has much more controversial and dense content than early films of the genre, namely the violence surrounding slavery and racism in the antebellumNew Era MLB Fitted Hats American South.

The film tells the story of Django (Jamie Foxx), a slave turned emancipated bounty hunter with the help of a charismatic German immigrant (Christopher Waltz), who is also a bounty hunter. If shy Bauer can fit in, he'll be just fine in Cleveland

The streets of this city on a winter weekday can be a lonely place for the new guy in town.

And so it goes that when Trevor Bauer strolled through those streets Tuesday night, looking to play some pool and perhaps meet a few folks, he wound up on his own, hunched over a billiard table in a bowling alley. The Indians' high-profile trade acquisition was, in that moment, just another nameless face in the downtown tableau, Wholesale New Era Hatsa solo soul.

Frankly, it's a part Bauer knows well.

Back then was a diamond in the rough

Growing up invisible, my life was sure tough

These are the words that open one of the rap songs Bauer recorded, along with high school pal Connor Garelick, and revealed to the ever-critical eye of the Internet last summer. And while the clearly amateur effort leaves plenty to be desired from a poetic perspective ("I'm gold now, because I shine in all I do/Like a 24-carat diamond ring for your boo") and Bauer himself concedes "I'm not good at it," we can read quite a bit from those words. For rare is the professional ballplayer for whom feelings of isolation strike such a raw nerve.

This is, after all, a team sport. One in which the kind of raw talent Bauer possesses can elevate you to a supreme stature at a remarkably young age.

For Bauer, though, the baseball talent that came so naturally to him stands in stark contrast to the social and interpersonal skills that have often eluded him.

"I didn't have a lot of friends growing up," said the soon-to-be 22-year-old native of North Hollywood. "I had a lot of free time. Instead of going to the movies with friends, I'd be up at the park working out. Everybody would be talking about the movie they saw. Well, I couldn't be a part of that conversation."

This is the fundamental foundation point you must understand about Bauer, Mitchell & Ness Snapback Hats one of the most hyped, most scrutinized and perhaps most misunderstood prospects in the game. For this is a man apart from all convention, be it baseball's time-worn training methods or basic clubhouse interaction.

A man apart is a man critiqued, a man questioned. And the questions that arose out of Bauer's short and altogether unsuccessful stay in the Arizona organization have followed him to his new Major League home in Cleveland.

Shake off your catcher in the moment leading up to your first Major League pitch? Yeah, that'll ruffle some feathers in a game so deeply devoted to an often-unwritten code of conduct.

Toss the ball more than 400 feet, from outfield corner to outfield corner, as a regular part of your pregame warmup routine? Sure, you'll become a circus-like curiosity.

Summon your inner Eminem and the let the world in on it? Oh, man, you're going to get crushed in the Twitterverse.

And if you're traded a year and a half after a team took you with the No. 3 overall pick in the Draft and gave you a big league contract and a $3.4 million signing bonus, well, suffice to say it doesn't do wonders for your rep.

But for Bauer, this arrival to the Indians, who acquired him in last month's three-team, nine-player swap with the D-backs and Reds, presents a new opportunity. It is here, he hopes, where, to paraphrase a line from Bob Dylan, his shyness won't be mistaken for aloofness and his silence for snobbery. It is here, he hopes, where his unique routine will be embraced with open arms.

Already, things are looking up, for the Indians are genuinely open minded about Bauer, his program, his intellectual approach and his effort to become a better teammate. They wouldn't have swung this trade if they weren't willing to embrace Bauer, in all his forms.

General manager Chris Antonetti and manager Terry Francona visited Bauer earlier this week, observing his throwing program at Ron Wolforth's Texas Baseball Ranch and his conditioning routine at Dynamic Sports Training. They came away convinced, in Antonetti's words, that Bauer "works very hard and is committed to being the best pitcher that he can be." And the Indians are going into this relationship committed to letting Bauer do his thing -- even if his thing differs from the norm.

"If he aggravated somebody else on another team," Francona said, "I don't care."

Bauer caused consternation in Arizona. The words "stubborn" and "uncoachable" have been attached to his name, and these are not words to be taken lightly. Bauer had command issues both at the Triple-A (61 walks in 130 1/3 innings) and Major League (13 walks in 16 1/3 innings) levels, and perhaps because he relies so much on his lower half, this was attributable to the groin injury that hounded him much of the year.

But the baseball stuff aside, those same issues Bauer had in high school -- that struggle with the interactions that come so naturally to so many others -- followed him to the big leagues. When he was traded, he certainly wasn't barraged with texts from his former mates, wishing him well. Truth is, Bauer had once again been unable to secure meaningful friendships.

"I'm still learning how to fit into a social setting," he said. "I'm not comfortable in large groups of people. It's tough in baseball, because you walk into a clubhouse and there's a large group. How do I fit in? I didn't learn that in high school. I'm still trying to learn it. It's something I need to improve on."

That's one reason why Bauer is here, taking part in the Indians' winter development program, an acclimation environment for some of their prized Minor Leaguers. That's why he reached out to several of his D-backs teammates at season's end, asking where he went wrong.

Bauer's athletic skill and standing have alreadyCheap New Era Snapback Hats introduced him to a wealth of money and opportunity. But Bauer still counts his close friends (including Garelick, who he met his junior year of high school) on a single hand. And he is still, in many ways, that kid off on his own, tossing baseballs in the park.

"It's a lot easier to make friends now that I'm ... something," Bauer said. "But I still only have three or four really close friends in the world."

The irony is that Bauer's first impression with the Cleveland media could not have been stronger. He came off comfortable in his own skin, comfortable discussing his quirks in both personality and profession. Bauer was well-spoken, open and approachable.

If Bauer applies those traits to the Cleveland clubhouse, he'll fit in just fine. And if the more bizarre elements of his preparation are accompanied by success in the Tribe's starting rotation, he'll never have to worry about people trying to pull him out of his comfort zone.

It's a fresh start for Bauer. The balls have been re-racked. The diamond in the rough has a new chance to shine.

Upton's choice puzzles weather watchers

It appears that Justin Upton would prefer to spend his summers in Phoenix rather than Seattle.

It's Upton's life. It's Upton's career. It's Upton's choice. But those of us who have been in both Phoenix and Seattle in the summer are allowed a raised eyebrow. Or two.

According to reliable reports, Upton rejected a proposed New Era Snapback Hatstrade that would have taken him from the Arizona Diamondbacks to the Seattle Mariners. The Mariners have been seeking an impact bat, and they have some prime pitching prospects who make them attractive trading partners.

Upton, 25, has a clause in his contract that allows him to block a trade to four teams, one of which is the Mariners. Upton apparently declined to waive that clause after Arizona and Seattle reached an agreement on a deal.

Upton has three years and $38.5 million remaining on his contract with Arizona. He has been the center of trade speculation for some time. That speculation has only increased since the D-backs acquired free-agent outfielder Cody Ross. Arizona has an outfield surplus, with Ross, Upton, Gerardo Parra, Jason Kubel and rookie Adam Eaton.

The Mariners, meanwhile, earlier acquired first baseman/designated hitter Kendrys Morales for pitcher Jason Vargas in a trade with the Angels. But they want and need to do more to bolster their lineup. A trade with Arizona, getting Upton for prospects, looked like a sensible move for both clubs. But apparently it didn't look so appealing to Upton.

Observing the Phoenix/Seattle options from the outside, let this be said in an objective manner: Seattle has a truly delightful summer climate. Meanwhile, the average daily high temperature in Phoenix is 100 degrees or more in four consecutive months, June through September. And the trend on those temperatures is not moderating.

Arizonans say, "But it's a dry heat." So is an oven, but you might not want to summer there, either. I'll admit, I'm thrilled to pieces to show up in the Valley of the Sun for Spring Training every year, Zephyr Snapback Hats and I have very good friends living there. But in the summer, the term "oppressive" comes readily to mind when contemplating the Arizona climate. In the winter, of course, you'd rather be in Arizona's climate. But that's not when baseball is being played.

There is nothing wrong with the D-backs' park, Chase Field. Hey, the air conditioning works, so what else could matter? But the Mariners' Safeco Field is one of the top three or four ballparks in all of baseball. It's a gem.

There's some cultural distance between Seattle and Phoenix, too, but anything I say on this topic risks understatement, so let's move on.

Both of these organizations are in good baseball hands, with general manager Kevin Towers in Arizona and GM Jack Zduriencik in Seattle. Based on last season's results, the Mariners (75-87) have a little further to travel than the D-backs (81-81).

Both of these clubs are in difficult, but not impossible, competitive situations. In the National League West, the D-backs are not only faced with the Giants, who have won two of the last three World Series, but now have the Dodgers taking over from the Yankees as the biggest spenders in baseball. In the American League West, the Mariners have to deal with a proven Rangers club, the A's -- who emerged to win the division last year -- and the Angels, who are also spending without apparent restriction. The AL West had the game's highest winning percentage last season. The addition of Houston could change that, but at least last place shouldn't be an option.

Upton, meanwhile, has never been with another organization. He was the top pick in the 2005 Draft, and he was in the Majors little more than two years later. He has been with two division-winning teams in Arizona.

The evidence suggests that he likes it well enough to stay. And the most recent evidence indicates that he has voted for Phoenix over Seattle at the first opportunity. We can all understand that in January, Cheap Snapback For Salebut in June, the edge will go in the other direction, and it won't be particularly close.

Hazard Shooting: 2 Killed At Community College Shooting In Kentucky

A gunman firing into a vehicle killed two people and wounded a juvenile Tuesday as they sat in the parking lot of an eastern Kentucky community college.

Cheap Snapback For SaleThe campus was locked down for more than an hour while police searched the two buildings of Hazard Community and Technical College in Hazard, Ky., to ensure there was no further danger before allowing students to leave, police told a news conference broadcast live on WYMT-TV's website.

College President Stephen Greiner said that at the time of the shooting, there were probably about 30 students on campus, which is based 90 miles southeast of Lexington, Ky.

Police recovered the weapon, a semiautomatic pistol, at the scene, Hazard Police Chief Minor Allen said. He said a man who walked into an office of the Kentucky State Police in Hazard and said he knew something about the shooting was being questioned as a suspect. The man had not been charged with a crime and no other suspects had been identified at the time of the news conference, which was held about three hours after the shooting.

New Era MLB Fitted HatsA male and female were already dead when police arrived about 6 p.m., Allen said. The wounded juvenile, a female, was taken to University of Kentucky Hospital, he said.

A hospital spokeswoman said she could not provide any information about the juvenile's condition without a name, which police did not release.

Police believe the shooting may have been the result of a domestic dispute, Allen said. He didn't know the relationship between the victims and the shooter.

In a statement released late Tuesday, college officials said they did not think the school was specifically targeted or that any of the people involved in the shooting were either students or employees of the college.

Conor Duff, the college's evening coordinator, said the outbreak of violence was startling.

"Everybody here's been pretty shook up," he said. "This is definitely something people around here are not used to. We have our fair share of problems, but normally this isn't one of them."

Classes had resumed Monday at the campus after the holiday break, according to the college's website, which also posted that there had been an incident and asked students to stay away from the main campus. The school called off classes for Wednesday.

Snapbacks WholesaleThe college's academic programs range from associate's degrees in arts and sciences to career-focused training in mining technology and heavy-equipment operation.

San Francisco Gun Show Draws Huge Crowds Fearful Of Looming Gun Control Measures

A gun show held this weekend at the Cow Palace in Daly City, just south of San Francisco, drew a record number of gun enthusiasts--many of whom flocked to the show out of fear that potential new gun control regulations could soon make guns more difficult to obtain.

Even though, due to California's strict gun laws, Cheap New Era Snapback Hatsno one was able to walk away from the event with a newly purchased gun in hand, an estimated 10,000 people packed the historic arena on Saturday alone for the annual Crossroads of the West gun show.

Gun show president Bob Templeton, who has been staging this event at the Cow Palace for nearly 40 years, told ABC San Francisco on Saturday afternoon that he expected another 8,000 to show up on Sunday.

"I cannot believe the number of people and cars," attendee Bob Daziel told KGO Radio with a laugh. "Obama wants to take everybody's guns away. So they're down here buying ammo, buying guns, they're getting ready for the next revolution."

This elevated level of interest in buying guns following a high-profile mass shooting, like the one that occurred late last year at Sandy Hook Elementary School, isn't exclusive to the San Francisco Bay Area--gun sales around the country have increased dramatically in recent weeks.

"There tends to be a spike in interest in buying guns after a mass shooting, but that's a short-term trend," explained attorney Lindsay Nichols of the Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence. "The long-term trend over the years is fewer households owning guns, but the people who do own guns owning more of them."

While the event was filled with a lot of self-described conservatives, they weren't the only group at the show. The San Jose Mercury News reports:

There were even some of the left-leaning folks the Bay Area is famous for…That included San Jose resident Steve Cozens, a self-described liberal who had plenty of skateboarding gear, including the Vans shoes he wore as he walked out with a pack of bullets for the two rifles he's building.

"If there's a mob of 50 people coming down the street,     New Era Snapback Hats      and they've just burned five or six houses, I'm not going to wait for them to come to my house," said Cozens, a 50-year-old father who recently overcame his "intimidation" of guns and now thinks his Second Amendment rights are in danger.

In recent years, both the San Francisco and San Mateo county Boards of Supervisors have passed resolutions urging Crossroads of the West to stay away from the Cow Palace; however, because the building is owned by the state's Department of Food and Agriculture, it isn't bound the decisions of either county's legislative body.

In 2009, State Senator Mark Leno (D-San Francisco) proposed a law that would have banned the state-owned facility from hosting gun shows; however, the bill was ultimately vetoed by then-California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. The Hollywood actor and former governor is a vocal proponent of Second Amendment rights, but has said he supports some gun control measures, such as closing loopholes that, in other states, allow people to buy firearms at gun shows without first submitting to a background check.

California has some of the toughest gun laws of any state in the country--with mandatory background checks, licensing of gun dealers, 10-day waiting periods, required written tests for all gun owners, recording of all firearm sales, handgun micro-stamping and a limiting each individual to one handgun purchase per month.

Unlike in some other states, there is no difference in California between what people are allowed to buy at gun shows and what they're allowed to buy at traditional gun shops. However, these types of shows still give gun control advocates like Nichols cause for concern.

"There are no laws on the books regarding the presence of law enforcement at all gun shows and that certainly increases the risk that legal requirements aren't being followed," she said, noting that not enough research has been done to adequately determine how frequently sales at gun shows skirt gun control rules.

Representatives from Crossroads of the West were not immediately available for comment.

Archie Manning talks Super siblings with Harbaughs' dad

Archie Manning, who fretted over showdowns between his quarterbacking sons Peyton and Eli, reached out to Jack Harbaugh as his coaching sons prepare to battle on the National Football League's (NFL) biggest stage.

Sibling rivalry will reach new heights in New Orleans on February 3 when John Harbaugh's Baltimore Ravens battle younger brother Jim Harbaugh's San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl.

"We just talked Monday and it's one of those deals where he said 'We just kind of pinch ourselves', and that's the way me and (wife) Olivia have been when the boys are playing against each other or Cheap New Era Snapback Hatswhen they get to Super Bowls or so forth," Manning told ESPN Radio on Wednesday.

Manning said he also spoke with Jack Harbaugh, himself a former college football player and coach, ahead of a U.S. Thanksgiving Day game in 2011 when Baltimore beat San Francisco in the first NFL game between head coaching siblings.

It is familiar territory for former NFL quarterback Archie Manning as his sons have opposed each other twice in regular season games with Peyton's Indianapolis Colts teams beating younger brother Beanies Snapback HatsEli's New York Giants both times.

Archie has not had to squirm watching his boys duel for the Lombardi Trophy but has had the pleasure of watching Peyton, who has since joined the Denver Broncos, win it in 2007 and Eli triumph in 2008 and 2012.

"I told him (Jack Harbaugh), just enjoy the journey it's so special. The sad part of it is, the Broncos are going to play the Giants again next year," Manning said. "We don't look forward to that game for one reason - someone is going to lose.

"And that's what's going to happen in the Super Bowl ... Someone's going to lose. As a parent, that hurts you.

"Any parent is going to be elated when their child is part of a Super Bowl winning team, but they can't be as excited as all the others because they've got one that's also lost."

The Harbaugh brothers do not figure to have much time for family gatherings before the Super Bowl but will get to share at least one unique moment together in the build-up to the game.

Yanks' Teixeira has partially torn tendon sheath

Mark Teixeira says he has a partially torn tendon sheath in his right wrist and didn't rule out missing up to two months of the regular season.

The first baseman rejoined the New York Yankees at spring Cheap New Era Hatstraining Sunday after getting hurt March 5 while with the U.S. team at the World Baseball Classic. The injury initially was announced as a strained wrist.

''The tendon is fine,'' Teixeira said. ''That's the good thing. It's the sheath that holds the tendon over. ... It's the little covering that holds the tendon in place. When you rotate your wrist, that tendon will snap in and out if the sheath is gone, and so the tendon sheath just got damaged a little bit, and we just want to make sure that the tendon is sitting in the groove right and it's stable. If that doesn't heal, then the tendon has a chance to get damaged, and you really don't want that.''

Teixeira plans to start limited baseball drills in about a week and is optimistic that surgery will not be necessary.

He was hurt while swinging a weighted bat left-handed off a tee in an indoor cage during pregame warmups with the U.S. at the World Baseball Classic. The Yankees have said Teixeira will be out until at least May.

''The good thing is it's nothing major, nothing where I'm missing a whole season,'' Teixeira said.

Teixeira is not blaming his national team participation for the injury.

''It has nothing to do with the WBC,'' he said. ''It would be one thing if we weren't playing games. We started playing games on the 23rd of February. February 23rd, think about it.''

''So we're playing games,'' Teixeira added. ''It doesn't matter if you're WBC, doesn't matter if you're spring training, I was hitting off a tee. It was a freak injury. If nobody was playing baseball and 47brand Snapback Hatswe decided to show up in January or February and start playing nine inning games, then people would say, 'OK, what is this WBC?' but we're playing games.''

Teixeira expects to start swinging a bat one-handed and fielding grounders after a week of cardio work. He says the wrist is stiff, but there is no pain.

''This is something that if I come back early, I'm not going to be very good and I can blow it out and risk surgery, and then I'm gone the whole year,'' Teixeira said.

Left-hander Andy Pettitte and closer Mariano Rivera are slated to take part in minor league games Monday, an off day for the Yankees.

Phil Hughes is to throw in his first simulated game Monday since being sidelined by a bulging disk in his upper back on Feb. 18. The right-hander could miss his first turn in the rotation.

Shortstop Derek Jeter is listed on the travel roster for Tuesday's game against Philadelphia in Clearwater. The Yankees captain played consecutive games in the field Friday and Saturday for the first time since ankle surgery last October.

''Try to play him a couple days in a row again and go from there,'' manager Joe Girardi said.

Reliever Boone Logan, out because of a sore elbow, will pitch in a simulated game Tuesday. Girardi feels there is enough time for the left-hander to be ready for opening day.

Left-handed reliever Clay Rapada, slowed by a shoulder injury, is playing catch, but his opening-day status has not been determined.

New York released Matt Diaz, signed as a minor league free agent during the offseason to compete for an extra outfield spot. The decision to release the 35-year old Diaz came NHL Snapback Hatsafter the Yankees signed outfielders Ben Francisco and Brennan Boesch int he past week.

No. 9 Miami beats UNC 87-77 for 1st ACC title

Jim Larranaga snipped the final strand of net hanging from the rim, then faced his players and cheering fans to twirl it in the air before draping it around his neck.

There's no mistaking Miami for just a football school anymore. Snapback Hats On Sale  Not after Larranaga guided the once-struggling Hurricanes to the top of the Atlantic Coast Conference with a team that looks like it can make a deep run in the NCAA tournament.

Shane Larkin scored eight of his career-high 28 points in the final 2 1/2 minutes to help No. 9 Miami pull away and beat North Carolina 87-77 in Sunday's ACC tournament final.

Trey McKinney Jones added a career-high 20 points for the top-seeded Hurricanes (27-6), including the go-ahead 3-pointer with 6:27 left that started Miami's final push toward its first tournament title.

It came one week after Miami completed its surprising run to its first ACC regular-season title in program history. And just as Larkin had promised, the Hurricanes weren't satisfied.

''We want more,'' senior Julian Gamble said. ''After we clinched the outright regular-season title at home and we (cut down the nets), we were like, 'Wasn't that the funnest thing you've ever done?' We wanted to go to Greensboro and do it again.''

Miami ended up getting the No. 2 seed in the NCAA tournament's East Region. The Hurricanes will face 15th-seeded Pacific on Friday in their tournament opener in Austin, Texas.

Larkin was chosen the tournament's MVP after finishing as runner-up for league player of the year. But he was at his best when the Hurricanes needed him to complete their climb from being picked fifth in the preseason poll to ACC champion.

In a terrific back-and-forth game filled with big shots, the Hurricanes finally slowed P.J. Hairston and the third-seeded Tar Heels (24-10) enough down the stretch to secure what amounted to a road win in front of UNC's home-state crowd.

It was an emotional moment for Gamble and fellow seniors Durand Scott and Reggie Johnson - who were all part of the team that was a last-place seed in the 2010 tournament that made the program's first run to the semifinals.

As the confetti fell from the rafters after the final horn, Scott leapt into Gamble's arms, then shared a big hug with Johnson as he fought back tears. In the locker room, Johnson talked with reporters with his left arm wrapped around the championship trophy in his lap.

Then there was Larranaga, the second-year coach taking over a program that hadn't come to the ACC tournament seeded better than fifth before this year. He lost in the ACC final in 1982 and 1983 as an assistant at Virginia but finally earned the elusive title.

''From day one, these guys have embraced our approach,'' Larranaga said. ''That doesn't mean that every day was great. It means we went through a transition of learning. Once they did learn, they felt good about it. And they kept trying to get better.''

Miami won its first 13 league games to drain the suspense Ti$A Vi$Ion Snapback Hats   from the regular-season race, though they stumbled by losing three of five coming into Greensboro.

''I don't know about the other guys on the team, but I do a lot of research online, seeing what people are saying about us individual players on our team, and I just kept seeing that everywhere: 'They peaked too early, they're not going to do anything, they're finished,''' Larkin said. ''And that just motivated me to go out there and play as hard as I could.''

Miami shot 51 percent and made 12 of 22 3-pointers - six from McKinney Jones, four from Larkin. Miami used its size advantage against North Carolina's four-guard lineup to take a 36-28 rebounding advantage that led to 13 second-chance points.

The Hurricanes needed every bit of it to beat the Tar Heels for the third time. Miami blew North Carolina out by 26 points in February but didn't put this one away until the final minutes.

Hairston scored 28 points with six of the Tar Heels' 13 3-pointers, one shy of tying the program's team record in the tournament. But it wasn't enough to secure their first ACC title since 2008 nor coach Roy Williams' 700th career victory.

For the Tar Heels, the third straight finals appearance didn't appear likely after that humiliating loss to the Hurricanes on Feb. 9. But that's when Williams inserted Hairston into the four-guard starting lineup, a move that changed everything for the Tar Heels.

''I've got nothing to complain about with my team today,'' Williams said. ''I'm really proud of my team. And I'm not talking about the entire year. I'm talking about today. I'm unbelievably proud of what they've accomplished and how far they've come when everybody was abandoning ship earlier. ... My team gave great effort today, my team was tough today, my team was attentive today. And yes, we made a couple of mistakes, but that's the game of basketball.''

Miami finally took control when Larkin drove by Dexter Strickland for a layup and a 76-71 lead, then McKinney Jones struck again with a 3 from the left corner off a feed from Rion Brown that made it 79-71 with 1:36 left - the Hurricanes' biggest lead to that point.

Larkin went 6-for-6 at the foul line in the final minute to keep Miami in control.

''That was a veteran group,'' UNC junior Reggie Bullock said. ''They made some big-time shots.''

Hairston and Larkin were the biggest stars of a dynamic first half that featured six ties and 14 lead changes. Both players had 15 points.

Hairston again wore the padded bandage to protect a cut to the webbing between his left middle and ring fingers he suffered in in Friday's quarterfinal win against Florida State, NHL Snapback Hats a wound to his non-shooting hand that required eight stitches.

Larkin's floater in the lane with 4 seconds left gave the Hurricanes a 44-41 halftime lead.

Cleveland cut Boston's 6-2 lead to 6-3 with an RBI double by Carlos Santana in the eighth, but with runners at second and third and two outs, reliever Koji Uehara struck out Nick Swisher to end that threat. Andrew Bailey pitched the ninth to pick up his second save.

With an assist from the wind, Boston scored first.

In the second, Napoli lifted a routine fly to medium right field, but a gust of wind almost propelled the ball out of the ballpark. It bounced off the right-field wall for a triple, Napoli's seventh triple in eight years in the majors. Nava's single drove in Napoli to give the Red Sox a 1-0 lead.

The Indians tied it in the bottom of the second when Mark Reynolds doubled, went to third on a flyout to right by Ryan Raburn and scored on a groundout to third by Mike Aviles.

The Red Sox took a 2-1 lead in the fourth when Saltalamacchia pounded a 3-and-2 pitch from Cleveland starter Zach McAllister over the wall in right for his third home run.

Tyler Seguin scored the other shootout goal and Brad Marchand Cheap New Era Snapback Hats  had the regulation goal for the Bruins (2-0).

Boston was short-handed for 2 minutes, 17 seconds of overtime after playing the final 71 seconds of regulation short-handed.

"We've stuck to our system," he said. "I guess we've kept it simple."

Ondrej Pavelec made 26 saves in regulation for the Jets, but gave up scores to Boston's first two shooters in the extra session. Chris Thorburn scored for the Jets (0-2).

The Jets played the final 1:11 of regulation and opening 49 seconds of OT on a power play when Johnny Boychuk high-sticked Little. Olli Jokinen's tip-in bid slid just wide of an open side of the net in the closing seconds.

Winnipeg also had a power play for the final 1:28 of overtime when Zdeno Chara was called for holding Wheeler, but it failed to get a decent shot on net despite being set up in Boston's end for a good portion of time.

"I think we were playing aggressive right off the bat," Bergeron said. "We didn't give them time to set up the plays they wanted because we were so aggressive."

"That's what made the difference," he said. "I thought our PK was good. (Bergeron) and (Chris Kelly) were breaking up plays when they got over the blue line."

"It's disappointing when you get those opportunities in the end there," Jets forward Evander Kane said. "Myself, I can't be making those bad passes and not generating anything. That's something that we're going to have to get better at."

The Bruins had a power play late in regulation when Kane was whistled for goaltender interference. Rich Peverley clanged a slap shot from the left point off the right post seconds after the ensuing faceoff. Nathan Horton had a bid in close, but Pavelec dropped to make a chest save.

Hillsborough inquest verdicts quashed by High Court

The High Court has quashed the original inquest verdicts returned on 96 Liverpool football fans who died as a result of the 1989 Hillsborough disaster.

The Lord Chief Justice Lord Judge ordered new inquestsWholesale New Era Hats after Attorney General Dominic Grieve's application.

Outside court, Trevor Hicks ,of the Hillsborough Family Support Group, said it was "a huge step for the families".

The home secretary has also announced a new police inquiry into the disaster.

Theresa May said the new inquiry would re-examine what happened on 15 April 1989.

Mr Grieve said he applied to the High Court as a result of the Hillsborough Panel's report, published on 12 September, which said 41 of those who died might have been saved.

He added Dr Bill Kirkup, the panel's medical member and a former associate chief medical officer at the Department of Health, had explained 58 of the dead "definitely" or "probably" had the capacity to survive beyond the 15:15 cut-off time.

New evidence undermined the coroner's summing-up, he said, adding later on BBC Radio 4's PM programme, that the report revealed "serious flaws" in the inquest.

He cited concerns about the timing of the fans' deaths, the role of the police and the false allegations that alcohol had played a material part in the tragedy, adding: "It [alcohol] was also used to blacken the New Era NBA Fitted Hats    reputation of the fans and potentially the victims, in a way that was very unfortunate, completely unacceptable and unfair."

"There has been a profound and palpable belief that justice had not been done [and] it is clear there are sound grounds for this application," he said.

He added the court wanted to "record our admiration and respect [to the families] for their determined search for the truth about the disaster and why and how it had occurred, which - despite disappointments and setbacks - has continued for nearly quarter of a century."

Mr Hicks, who lost two daughters in the disaster, said the families "couldn't have written it better".

"It's clear now justice is on its way - I think a lot of us are going to have a much happier Christmas," he said.

Justice Secretary Chris Grayling said he would do everything to get "new inquests established quickly".

"I have received a request from the Doncaster and Bradford Coroners for a judge to be appointed to conduct these inquests and I am today asking the Lord Chief Justice to make a recommendation to me on suitable candidates as soon as possible," he added.

Mrs May said former Durham Chief Constable Jon Stoddart would lead the new inquiry, focussing specifically on the Liverpool fans' deaths as a result of what happened at the 1989 FA Cup semi-final with Nottingham Forest.

Ninety-five fans died after they were crushed within two pens at the Leppings Lane terrace of Sheffield Wednesday's stadium, while the 96th died three years later after a Law Lords ruling stopping his tube feeding.

Mr Stoddart can recruit his own team but not any Fitted Hats Wholesaleofficers or former officers with any prior connection to the disaster or from West Midlands, South Yorkshire or Merseyside police forces.
